Nationality for All (NFA) is seeking a Finance and Admin Coordinator, based in the Asia Pacific region to manage NFA’s finances and operation.

About Nationality For All

Nationality For All (NFA) is a regional organization that works to promote the rights of all people affected by statelessness in the Asia-Pacific region, including the right to nationality, through strategic and long-term partnerships. NFA’s work includes partnership building, knowledge building, coalition building, and advocacy, to foster a more cohesive, collaborative, and therefore more sustainable approach to addressing statelessness in the region. NFA works closely with persons with lived experience of statelessness and strives to transform the statelessness field to be led by impacted persons by equalizing the power imbalances between them and the other stakeholders.

About the role

Reporting to the Operation Consultant, The Finance and Admin Coordinator will oversee the organization’s regular administration and financial compliance.

Job TitleFinance and Admin Coordinator
PeriodThis is a full-time position for 6 months commencing October 1, 2024 (until March 31, 2025) with the possibility of extension.
LocationApplicants must be eligible to work in Nepal

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account management
    • Process expenses and income (Accounts payables and receivables).
    • Enter data from financial transactions into the NFA accounting system regularly and accurately.
    • Ensure the current budget is entered and updated
    • Complete monthly accounting processes
    • Complete monthly reconciliation for all balance sheet accounts each month.
    • Ensure expenses are recorded to the correct accounts and funders each month.
    • Allocate expenses to funders in accordance with donor requirements.
    • Ensure processes are followed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including payment of overseas invoices in foreign currency.
    • Coordinate with the Auditor to complete the audit of the organization
  • Project Design, Implementation, and Financial Reporting
    • Create project financial proposals
    • Support the preparation of the project financial reports
    • Participate in the evaluation of the procurement of goods and services
    • Maintain physical copies of all the project-specific expenses
    • Ensure that the projected income and expenditure follow the organizational policies
  • Financial planning and reporting
    • Contribute to the organisation’s annual and periodic financial planning process
    • Participate in the strategic planning process and preparing the organisation’s annual and multi-year budgets
  • Operations
    • Ensure the implementation of the following policies of the organization
      • Human Resource Policy
      • Procurement Policy
      • Travel Policy
      • Financial Policy
    • Create monthly timesheets for employees and interns
    • Keep track of the leaves, reimbursements, and other benefits of the employees
    • Prepare internal and external contracts with partners, vendors, consultants, and other service providers
    • Take notes of internal team meetings and prepare meeting minutes

2. Skills

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and accounting software (like Reckon)
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to empathize with survivors, affected people, and persons with lived experience of marginalization

3. Knowledge

  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting

4. Experience

  • 5 – 7 years
  • Experience working with a non-profit organization

5. Qualification

  • Advanced degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • CA, CPA, or any relevant degree is a plus
