Nationality for All (NFA) will participate in an official side event at the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) 2026, titled “Youth Statelessness as a Governance Gap: GCM and GCR Complementarities in Strengthening Legal Identity Frameworks in Asia-Pacific.”
The event is co-organized with UNHCR and partners, and will bring together policymakers, practitioners, and advocates to examine the challenges and opportunities in addressing youth statelessness in the region.
About the Event
Youth affected by statelessness continue to face significant barriers in accessing legal identity, education, employment, and meaningful participation in society. These challenges are often exacerbated by gaps in governance systems and limited coordination across global and regional frameworks.
This side event will explore how the Global Compact on Migration (GCM) and the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) can be leveraged together to strengthen inclusive legal identity systems, with a particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
