Diwakar Chettri is the Chairperson of the Citizenship Affected People’s Network (CAPN) in Nepal. He is a former schoolteacher with 27 years of experience and a political cartoonist who actively advocates for gender-equal citizenship laws. Having lived without citizenship for nearly three decades before obtaining it at 45, he brings firsthand insight into the challenges faced by stateless persons. His work focuses on policy advocacy and the need for rehabilitative support for those who missed educational and vocational opportunities due to statelessness. Since retiring from teaching, he has dedicated his time to addressing statelessness through advocacy, awareness, and academic collaboration.
