Job Description

NFA is seeking an experienced and passionate Program Coordinator, based in the Asia Pacific region (with the flexibility of working from home) to support NFA to deliver an upcoming project supported by the COVID-19 Emergency Statelessness Fund (CESF). The project is focused on Actioning the CESF Impact Report published in June 2021 in the Asia-Pacific Region. The project aims to support CESF Consortium members (‘Partners’) in four Asia-Pacific countries (Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and Malaysia) to contextualize the Impact Report and implement the calls to action specified in the Report and fulfill a certain immediate need of the members. The Program Coordinator will also be tasked with the implementation of another project titled ‘Count Us In! Building a Movement of Change for Stateless Communities’ that aims to pilot coalition building and participatory mapping in Southeast Asia, working closely with consortium partners in Cambodia and Indonesia.

The position will report to the Executive Director.

Required Qualifications and Experiences: 

  • Experience in project planning and delivery.
  • A relevant master’s degree (in human rights, law, social work, international relations, development studies, migration studies, or other similar fields)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including experience dealing with sensitive stakeholders and information
  • Experience working on statelessness or other related human rights issues in the Asia Pacific region

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and organize workshops and consultation meetings with partners
  • Facilitate sessions on statelessness and right to nationality in the workshops
  • Prepare and finalize project deliverables
  • Undertake a high-level mapping of stakeholders working on statelessness in the Asia Pacific region
  • Support consortium members to prepare their Project Concept Notes
  • Review the research plan, design and findings of the regional impact study
  • Prepare the mapping report and identify areas of collaboration among stakeholders
  • Supervise the role of the Program Officer

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in Nepal.
